IFPTE Endorses SPEEA Member David Garrett for Marysville City Council

IFPTE is proud to give our full backing to SPEEA/IFPTE Local 2001 member, David Garrett, who is running for the Marysville City Council.

In issuing the endorsement, IFPTE President Matt Biggs said that, “David is very well situated to deliver for his fellow citizens as a Marysville City Councilmember.” Secretary-Treasurer Henson added that, “David has built his message and campaign around his belief that Solidarity together will bring huge benefits to Marysville’s working families, something he will carry with him to the City Council.”

Brother Garrett has an impressive career of service to SPEEA, having served as SPEEA Area Rep, Council Rep, Northwest Vice President, and participating in key committees such as Tellers, Legislative & Public Affairs, and Organizational Planning.  David commented on his candidacy, promising to act, “in the best interests of residents, including providing access to living wage jobs. I will fight for project labor agreements (PLAs) on all future city project worksites to ensure both quality work for the public and fair compensation for every worker.”

David has already been endorsed by the Snohomish & Island County Labor Council.  Learn more about him and his campaign here.
