After claiming they would not cut Medicaid, House Republican led Commerce Committee passed bill to slash $715B from the program

While the Joint Committee on Taxation found that it would cost taxpayer $4.9 trillion to make the Trump tax cuts for billionaires permanent, House Speaker Mike Johnson continued to claim this week that there would be no cuts to Medicaid, saying this past Wednesday that, “We’re not cutting Medicaid.”  Unfortunately that’s not true at all, as the Republican led House Commerce Committee voted out legislation this week to gut $715B from the Medicaid program, while the Republican led Agriculture Committee voted to approve $300B in cuts from the food stamp and other nutritional programs.
